Make sure it's a good fit for you.
Did You Know?
Research shows that more so than any particular therapeutic model or style, the factor that is the strongest predictor in a positive outcome for therapy is what they call the therapeutic alliance. This is the relationship between the client and the therapist—do they feel understood, do they feel they can work well together, and so forth. That means that it is important that you find a therapist with whom you feel a good ‘alliance’. Whether working with us here at Lakeshore or somewhere else, make sure you take the time to find a good match.
